01 / THE PROGRAMME
Which OEKO-TEX® programme fits?
Understand the OEKO-TEX® programme family
OEKO-TEX® is a family of programmes, rather than one interchangeable certificate. STANDARD 100 concerns textiles tested for harmful substances. STeP addresses production facilities, while ECO PASSPORT concerns chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries used in textile and leather production. The relevant institute determines the applicable assessment or testing requirements for the programme and scope you select.
02 / THE FIT
Is it relevant to your business?
Who it may suit
- Yarn, fabric, garment and home-textile businesses reviewing product-testing needs.
- Production facilities exploring the requirements relevant to their operations.
- Chemical suppliers assessing a programme specific to their formulations and market.
Potential value
- May help address a buyer’s specified product or production requirements.
- Can provide a structured route for testing or assessment within a defined scope.
- Can improve the organisation of product, supplier and supporting technical information.

07 / COMMON QUESTIONS
A little more clarity.
Does STANDARD 100 certify our whole factory?
STANDARD 100 concerns textile products within the certified scope. Production-facility assessment has a different purpose; STeP is one relevant programme. Choose the route that matches the requirement.
Does OEKO-TEX® certification prove recycled content?
Do not assume that one certificate proves every material claim. Review exactly what the selected programme and issued certificate cover. Recycled-content traceability may require a separate certification route.
Can Aegis issue an OEKO-TEX® certificate?
Aegis provides consulting, preparation and coordination. The responsible OEKO-TEX® institute handles the applicable testing, assessment and certification decision. Programme scope, fees and timing must be confirmed with that institute.
